Teaching – Throwing for beginners and improvers.

04/03/2012

I am happy to do one to one teaching in my small workshop. It  can be helpful if you go to classes but want to advance your throwing skills which can sometimes be hard to do in a large class. Or for those who have their own wheel and kiln and want support. It is also a great way to try throwing and working with clay as an experience or to see if you enjoy it before signing up for a course. Do contact me for more information.

Spring and summer markets and show

04/03/2012

The Artisan Market in Canterbury city centre seems to go from strength to strength and I sold amazingly well in January and February, considering the time of years.
The market is held on the 4th Saturday each month. I am usually outside WHSmiths and the next few dates are …
Sat March 24th and Sat 28th April & 28th July.
Sadly I can’t do the May or June markets, but for happy reasons, a wedding in North Yorkshire and now that my son Oscar is injury free he is planning another attempt to run Hadrian’s Wall in June.

The Craft in Focus Show at Kent College Canterbury is Friday 13th, Sat 14th and Sun 15th April
Please check the website for opening times, directions etc. http://www.craftinfocus.com/canterbury_april_12.html
I have some complimentary tickets for the show and lots of half price vouchers, please let me know if you think you can use them.

The Wealden Times Midsummer Fair 2012 is at Hole Park Rolvenden nr Tenterden on Thursday 14th, Friday 15th & Saturday 16th June.
Again, I usually get some complimentary tickets, do let me know nearer the time if you would like one. I will probably recieve them at the beginning of June.

Artisan Market – Canterbury 17th December 2011

17/11/2011

There is an extra Artisan Market date before Christmas…17th December.

Autumn show plans 2011

18/10/2011

There are two days at the Artisan Market in Canterbury, a Craft Fair in aid of Kidney Research in Wye, a day at Spitalfields Market, London and the Wealden Times show in West Kent.

Here are the details……

The Artisan Market , Canterbury, Sat 22nd October and Sat 26th November 9am – 5pm.
I am usually outside WHSmiths, the market is growing and improving each month and we expect a lot of stalls for the October and November dates. There is a wide range of things available, lots of various crafts, all designed and made locally together with local produce and plants.

Kidney Research Christmas Craft Fair at Wye Village Hall, Wye Near Ashford, 10am-1pm on 5th November
This is a cause that is close to my heart. It is a small, nice quailty craft fair, again it should be nice if you live not too far away.

The Designer/Makers Market at Spitalfields Market in London 11am – 5pm 19th November
I joined the group earlier in the year, it is a fairly new organisation and the makers are largely London based There are some very beautiful and interesting things being made, worth gooing to have a look if it appeals and you are not too far away.

The Wealden Times Midwinter Fair, Bedgebury Pinetum Near Goudhurst 24th 25th and 26th November
This is a lovely show, a sort of melting pot of clothes, Christmas things, jewellery, beautiful things for the home and foody things.
Here is a link to the website with all the info….

I have several FREE tickets for the show, please email me if you would like one or two of them.

Thankfully with the help of family and friends I have solved the problem of how to be in two places at once on 26th November! My friend Miriam is going to man the stall in Canterbury, if you live in Canterbury you may know Miriam, she regularly works at the Goods Shed.

Do come and say ‘hello’ if you come to any of the events.

I am working again!

10/08/2011

I have been working for the past 2 weeks and so far so good. My plans are to continue with the Artisan Market in Canterbury which is held on the 4th Saturday each month, the dates are Saturdays 27th August, 24th September, 22nd October and 26th November. I am usually outside WHSmiths.

I am planning to do the Kidney Research Christmas Craft Fair in Wye, 10am-1pm on 5th November. This is a cause that is close to my heart, perhaps if you are local you might come and support this event.  I am also booked to do the Wealden Times Midwinters Fair at Bedgebury Pinetum on Thursday 24th, Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November… fingers crossed for the weather.

You may have notice that I am hoping to be in two places at once… and I am…… hopefully with the help of children and friends.

Sadly, I have had to cancel a couple of other planned shows this autumn.

If you have a particular soft spot for  Macmillan Cancer Support perhaps you would consider supporting my son Oscar who is going to attempt to run Hadrians Wall (64 miles!) in September…. www.justgiving.com/Oscar-Hummerstone… he is in training and his parents are preparing their nerves.

Wealden Times Midsummer Show 2011

27/04/2011

Frustratingly, due to a very minor injury to my hand I have been unable to work for a few weeks and I have had to withdraw from the Wealden Times Midsummer Show in June. It is healing but I will not have enough work for the show.

Summer markets and shows 2011

20/04/2011

I will have my usual stand on Saturday 23rd April at the Artisan Market in Canterbury but will not be there in May. The Artisan is on the 4th Saturday of the month and I will be there 25th June, 23rd July, 27th August and 24th September. I am usually outside WHSmiths

This summer I am doing the Wealden Times Midsummer Show. It is at Brick House Farm, High Halden on 9th 10th and 11th June. The winter show is a bit special and I am sure the summer one will have lots of interesting things.

If for any reason I am unable to do one of the events, I will update this site, now that I have worked out how to do it!

Spring and summer 2011

23/01/2011

Had a damp and chilly day yesterday at the market but sold lots of pots in the half price sale… hooray, it is great to sell some work in January.
I am unable to do the monthly Artisan market in Canterbury in February as it will be my Uncle’s 100th birthday party on 26th February.

The dates for the Artisan Market in Canterbury High Street are 26th March, 23rd April, 25th June and 23rd July.

I will be at the Craft in Focus show at Kent College in Canterbury on 15th 16th and 17th April. I should have plenty of half price or ’2 for 1′ tickets,  do let me know nearer the time if you would like one or more.

I have also booked to do the Wealden Times show this summer. It is at Brick House Farm, High Halden on 9th 10th and 11th June.

Sadly, the South East Ceramics show has been suspended this year.

Seconds and half price sale…. 22nd January at the Artisan Market

16/12/2010

At the January Artisan Market in Canterbury I will be selling seconds and other pots  half price. I am usually outside WHSmiths in the High Street.
If the weather is very wet, very windy or very cold… please check with me before making a special trip, I will probably have an open house instead.

I am unable to do the market in February and March.
